Stegastein has been an attractive viewpoint for centuries as it lies along the National Tourist Road known as the "Snow Road". However, it was not until 2006 that the famous architects Todd Saunders and Tommie Wilhelmsen built a vantage point that would lift visitors out and over the fjord. The platform is built of wood and steel with a glass railing in front to enhance the dramatic feel. They are also built a design toilet at Stegastein, which won the award for "Most Beautiful Toilet" by Design Cural Magazine in 2015.
You can easily get to Stegastein by car as there's parking at the viewpoint. Alternatively, you can take a guided bus tour up to the viewpoint from Flåm center.
Experience the absolutely spectacular panoramic view on Stegastein - a viewing platform placed 30 meters from the mountainside and 650 meters over the Aurlandsfjord. If you are in Aurland or Flåm, you have to see this fantastic view.Link to google maps
